In a paper, approximately 4 pages (min.) in length, address the following question:
How do Durkheims and Webers assumptions about ontology, epistemology, and the nature of human nature influence the manner in which they approach the study of society and social institutions?
Be sure to address all three types of domain assumptions for both Durkheim and Weber. Be sure to discuss social institutions in your response. You may ONLY USE YOUR TEXTBOOK AS A SOURCE for this paper (make sure it is properly cited), and make sure you limit spelling and grammatical errors
Write a (4 page min.) paper that discusses Max Webers theory of rational-legal organization. In this paper, explain why bureaucracies are necessary, how they organize modern society, and the impact that rational organizational structure has upon society and the individual. When writing your paper, be sure to address the following:
First, explain why bureaucracies are necessary in modern capitalistic societies. Second, discuss how bureaucracies organize the institutions of modern society — identify two related social institutions and use them to illustrate Webers theory.
Next, explain how bureaucracies impact you and the society in which you live. Discuss how rational-legal organization has impacted your class position in the social hierarchy, and the life decisions that you made as a result. Be sure to use examples which clearly illustrate the effects of bureaucracy upon the individual and society (avoid over-reliance on micro-level explanations).
Correct original examples are always evaluated as stronger than using examples from the textbook.
