Systems thinking and leadership

  First, pick a public health problem or a health services management problem of your choice that you think would benefit from systems analysis or systems thinking. It could be one we have discussed already such as obesity or drug addiction or employee burnout or it could be something new such as climate change, vaccination rates, or health services quality improvement. The assessment comprises two parts. In part 1 you will describe the problem and explain why you think it warrants a systems analysis. In part 2 you will review what literature there is that has taken a systems approach to the problem of interest and describe what methods you would use to shed further light on the problem or its possible solutions. Describe how you would apply systems thinking to this situation or problem. What methods would you use? (Why these methods and not others?) What do you think this approach would tell you about this problem / help you address this problem?
