The Additive Manufacturing AM
Prepare a report to explain the Additive Manufacturing AM (a.k.a 3D printing). In this report you should explain the following:
1. Overview of the AM (2 pages)
a. This should start with a very simple definition of AM
b. Then history of how AM developed over years (you can represent this with a diagram/flow chart with major developments over years) (also mentioning first AM product or use will be great here)
c. Then going back to the definition of AM and discussing it into details by breaking it down and listing AM features
2. Types of AM technologies (2 Pages)
a. List of all types available from the literature with photos/or diagram that show the differences
b. a table summarizing in brief the differences between the types
3. Components of AM (2 pages)
a. Explain the process (steps) of how AM technology works (use diagram like a flow chart) and explain each step in the process
b. This should also contain explanation of each component in above process
4. Advantages (value proposition) and challenges of AM (2 pages)
a. What are the advantages of using this technology
b. And what are the current challenges preventing AM from growing
5. Applications of AM in SCM and Service Industry (8 applications) (8 pages , 1 page for each application)
a. 4 applications must be related to electricity supply chain sector and the other 4 can be from other industries (medical, education, oil & gas, construction, military ..etc)
b. The theme of all the applications must be as follows
i. The challenge: The current challenge that the company would like to resolve
ii. The solution: How AM is utilized to resolve the challenge (add relevant photos/diagrams describing the solution)
iii. The results: what are the obtained results. How the old challenge was resolved what improvement obtained.
6. The future of AM (1 page)
a. What is next?
b. What improvement and studies are in place to improve AM technology
