“The Call to Courage”

    -Introduction: Before participating in this discussion, watch “The Call to Courage” available on Netflix. -Background: Although she does not directly reference Communication Theory, Brene Brown’s research encompasses Social Information Processing Theory, Uncertainty Reduction Theory, Media Multiplextiy Theory, Uses and Gratifications Theory, Communication Accommodation Theory, and Face Negotiation Theory (All in the attachment). She studies many themes we have covered throughout the course including, empathy, disclosure, vulnerability, relationships, communication, cultural communication, saving face and conflict. Identify your top three examples from Brene Brown’s talk that resonate with you and relate each to a corresponding theory we have covered in the course. Explain the relevance, connection, and why each resonate with you.
