Criminal Investigation Online Assignment #1- The CSI Effect For Assignment #1, students will demonstrate an understanding of how TV and Movies have influenced our understanding of Criminal Investigations. by observing a crime drama episode, and determining what is real and what is for TV effect. To begin the assignment, students will choose a crime drama (one hour) episode to watch (any police/science/legal dramas would work as along as they depict a crime). Before watching the drama, the student will: 1. Read Ch. 1 in the textbook, paying particular attention pages 13-14 covering the “CSI Effect”. 2. Prepare a document to address the particular processes used in the Investigation in the Crime drama. Create a chart with four vertical columns. In the first column, title it-Investigative Process. In the second vertical column, Title it-Patrol Officer or Investigation, identifying who performed the action. In the Third vertical column, title it-Real or TV, and in the third vertical column, title it-My Observations. This column will be used for you to explain your belief as to why the process you observed is real or fake.
