THE LEGAL ENVIRONMENT

In ten (10) pages or (slightly) less complete the following assignment. It should be submitted using a font size of no less than 12 and spacing no greater than 1.5 and on 8.5 x 11 inch paper. It may be printed on both sides.

1. The Occupational Health & Safety Act.
2. The Employment Standards Act 2000. (the one I selected)
3. The Workplace Safety & Insurance Act.
4. The Ontario Labour Relations Act.

Explain in detail:
1. Its history including how, when and why it came about.
2. The obligations that it places on employers.
3. The obligations that it places on workers.
4. Specific rights that it allows employees.
5. Whether or not you believe that it is necessary to retain this statute and any changes that you would recommend be made to it.

List and provide details of:
1. Two court cases that apply directly to your selected statute and how they impact on it.
Or
2. How your selected statute is applied at your place of work and any possible discrepancies that exist between its duties, rights and obligations and its actual application.
