The federal government is proposing to enforce a minimum living wage based on the premise that everyone who works 40 hours a week should be able to support themselves and a family regardless of the type of work. The government has decided that the proposed minimum living wage should be $21 per hour. Currently, the minimum wage in this country is $10.00 per hour. The average wage after a person has worked 5 years is $17.00. Describe what you believe would happen in the labor market if this law were to pass.
