The Iranian Revolution

  Janet Afary and Kevin B. Anderson, Foucault and the Iranian Revolution: Gender and the Seductions of Islamism (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2005). Students are expected to write a four pages book review which will address all of the following questions: 1) what is the central thesis of the book? 2) identify useful concepts presented in the work? 3) what are the major strengths and weaknesses of the book? 4) what questions have come to your mind in light of the reading? A handout will be given to the writer with a list of possible books to review.
