The Law of Historical Memory and the Law of Homosexual Marriages

Discuss these two laws that were passed during Zapatero's presidency and relate its content with Spanish youth. A) Explain what was the Law of Historical Memory passed by Zapatero and how is it related with the 1977 Law of Amnesty. If this law attempts to allow Spanish culture to deal with its memory, you will probably need to explain what does this law allow to know (Civil War/Dictatorship) / / Did all politicians react in a positive way? Was it successful? B) At class we reflected upon the relationship between memory/guilt and the concept of identity. Does shame and guilt affect Spanish youth? C) What is the law of homosexual marriage? What significance does it have in relation with Spanish culture? Does it collide with anything, such the role of patriarchy, related with the evolution of Spanish youth studied throughout the course? D) Does Barcelona have any 'gay' quarter, what about Chueca's neighborhood in Madrid? Why is the LGBT Civil Rights movements useful to improve our society? E) This presentation should also incorporate an intercultural analysis. In other words, how does the US youth deal with the Law of Homosexual Marries? How does the US youth deal with collective memory/guilt? Is the US youth aware of its own past? Think about how is, for example, the Atomic Bombs taught and perceived by the US youth. Does it affect how US culture view itself? The same type on intercultural analysis should be done with the law of homosexual marriages
