The Medieval Period

    Look at The Medieval Period, and will witness Monophonic music via Gregorian Chant, witness the beginnings of written sheet-music, learn a bit about Homophony and Polyphony, and get a good idea as to the influence the church had on European music. This Era ran between the years of c.e. 500 to 1400, a period of time after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, and contains some of the first examples of our musical notation system.
