The "philosopher king" from Plato's Republic

  I. Describe and explore, in as much detail as possible, the concept of the "philosopher king" from Plato's Republic. What exactly does Socrates mean, do you think, by a "philosophical" ruler? (Use evidence from the Apology, as well as from the Republic, to respond to that question). Is this concept of a "philosopher king" a good one — or a mistaken one, even dangerous?
