The Research Design and Hypothesis

Outline the design of your planned research. You will need to include the following information:

What are your variables (independent, dependent, extraneous)? How are they expected to relate to each other? How will they be measured?

If using a survey, questionnaire, or assessment instrument, which one is being used, and why? A custom one could be developed, but that can be quite time consuming, and there are many pre-made instruments out there (http://buros.unl.edu/buros/jsp/search.jsp)

What is the population of interest for this study? How will you sample from this population?

What is the basic procedure that will be used for the study?

This needs to be part of the paper and more added to it:

The independent variable will be the degree of negative body image while the dependent variable will be impacts of viewing oneself negatively. The independent variable will be measured using a scale which will rate the level at which people view their bodies negatively. The dependent variable will be measured based on the independent variable.
