1. From the 16th to the 19th centuries, the trade in human beings from Africa across the Atlantic Ocean (i.e. The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade) emerged as the most dominant global economic activity. Discuss its main causes and impacts on African societies. You also need to highlight how the Slave Trade contributed to the process of Globalization. Use examples from the documentary âPrince among Slavesâ.
2. From the 17th to the 19th centuries, Western Europe championed what is called âThe Age of Enlightenmentâ. Discuss its origins; and ideas of two key thinkers of that age; and impacts on modern society. You also need to highlight how the âAge of Enlightenmentâ contributed to the process of Globalization.
B. The Effects of âTo Err Is Humanâ in Nursing Practice
The 1999 landmark study titled âTo Err Is Human: Building a Safer Health Systemâ highlighted the unacceptably high incidence of U.S. medical errors and put forth recommendations to improve patient safety. Since its publication, the recommendations in âTo Err Is Humanââ have guided significant changes in nursing practice in the United States.
Review these recommendations and consider the role of health information technology in helping address concerns presented in the report.
