Topic: Coral Bleaching

Order Description
CAUSAL MAPPING INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY

This exercise is designed to allow the learner to explore the process of causal mapping to find the root cause to a problem (or issue). Causal analysis allows an organization to uncover and understand systemic organizational issues.

BACKGROUND

Start by watching (https://youtu.be/zvkYFZUsBnw) a good intro to causal analysis (or root cause analysis). This is same video we watched in class.

You have been asked by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to develop a causal map to help explain the global (or just Hawaii) coral bleaching events that have occurred in 2014 and 2015.
You can go to:

Coral Bleaching 2014

NOAA wants you to submit your causal map and a brief summary of what you found as root cause(s) and any recommendations. They would like the causal map either hand drawn (and scanned into PDF) or produced with MS Visio or MS PowerPoint.
