Understanding Visual Design
Find an example of a flyer or infographic that is designed to teach (not for marketing purposes). Examples can be found by completing a simple Google image search for infographic, infographic+academic or flyer+academic. You may select a well-designed or poorly constructed example. The main idea is to gain experience evaluating the use of effective visual design principles. Consider the following questions: 1.) What message does the visual convey? 2.) How did the designer handle the layout? (What design principles were used?) 3.) What element first attracted your attention and why? 4.) How do the color choices affect you? 5.) Do you think the visual design is an effective one? Why or why not? Summarize your analysis of the example you selected. Either post your example as an image to the discussion board or provide the link with your analysis based on the questions above.
