Individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder exhibit certain behaviors, which include;
A pattern of unstable intense relationships such as idealizing someone one moment and then suddenly believing the person doesn’t care enough. One could be arguing with an individual with BPD, and they would completely do off the deep end, thinking that the other person does not care for them and their opinion (Gunderson, 2011).
Suicidal threats or behavior of self-injury in response to the fear of rejection or separation. These habits include burning or cutting themselves. Bleeding as a result of cutting is a form of cutting. It is proof that they are stupid, and the scars are proof of this. This is normally proof of the inner feelings with proof on the outside. Some opt for suicide attempts to express and get attention for themselves and the disorder (Gunderson, 2011).
Extensive mood swings lasting a few hours to a few days, including intense happiness, irritability, shame or anxiety. Individuals with BPD tend to be too emotional and tend not to have control over their emotions. Individuals tend to have enormous self-hate such that they cannot face their image in the mirror. They admit to feeling stupid and guilty to be alive (Gunderson, 2011).
Impulsive and risky behavior like alcohol abuse. Both of the respondents admit to taking alcohol and even attempting suicide by taking it with sleeping pills (Gunderson, 2011).
Several factors cause borderline Personality Disorder
Sexual abuse- both individuals in the video report to have been sexually abused as children, mostly by individuals who were well known to them. As many as seventy per cent of people with Borderline Personality Disorder have been sexually abused (Zanarini, 2000).
A person’s temperament and family environment can cause the disorder. The individual needs to have a sensitive temperament. When coupled with an environment that does not teach how to appreciate and control their problems, it becomes a problem. Spoiling of children also is a contributing factor to the development of BPD (Zanarini, 2000).

Treatment?
Like other personality disorders, borderline personality disorder causes problems in a person’s life by interfering with the person’s ability to maintain personal relationships. People with this disorder often cause a great amount of stress or conflict in relationships with others, especially in their close relationships (romantic or family/friends). This can often lead to divorce, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, job loss, and estrangement from family.
