Reflect over the past eight weeks and describe how the achievement of the course outcomes in this course (Population health epidemiology and statistical principal course) have prepared you to meet the following as a future Advanced Practice Nurse (FNP). • MSN program outcome #2- Create a caring environment for achieving quality health outcomes (Care-focused) • MSN Essential IV- Essential IV: Translating and Integrating Scholarship into Practice Recognizes that the master’s-prepared nurse applies research outcomes within the practice setting, resolves practice problems, works as a change agent, and disseminates results. • NP Competencies: Nurse Practitioner Core Competency (NONPF) #4. Develops new practice approaches based on the integration of research, theory, and practice, knowledge and Practice Inquiry. A further NP core competency is focused on skills, understandings, and integrative abilities related to practice inquiry. The expectation is that the NP graduate comprehends differences between research utilization and translation science and is able to generate clinical practice knowledge to drive healthcare improvements. In this area, the NP graduate should be able to assess and measure healthcare outcomes in order to retrieve a high level and quality of evidence to drive clinical decision making in NP practice.
