What is the significance of the narrative voice in Middlemarch?

Topic: As we have discussed in class, a story’s narrative perspective influences textual interpretation.  While some voices are reliable, such as the omniscient voice or the objective third person, the subjective voice invites scrutiny or possibly even suspicion.  What is the significance of the narrative voice in one of the novels studied in class?
