At present, there is a national focus on the prevalence of knife crime committed by youths. Using statistical data and academic literature, critically discuss the prevalence and response to knife crime in England and Wales. A) Are there any clear trends in the statistical data? B) From the evidence you have found, what are the main risk factors linked to this type of youth offending? C) Critically evaluate the current response to knife crime. D) What, if anything, do you think could be done to reduce these offences?
