A. Prepare a survey instrument that will collect information from a target audience that will help determine delivery preferences or needs appropriate for one of your topics from your Message Analysis assignment. The survey should be designed to assess the audience’s familiarity with the proposed topic, possible interest, and any hardware platform requirements. The survey/questionnaire will be distributed to a minimum of 5 subjects from the target population. Take into account your proposed delivery mechanism for the selected message. This should be identified in your analysis and explain why this would be an appropriate delivery medium based on your survey results. Use the section information below to help guide you (but not limit you) in determining what questions would be relevant. Be sure to use appropriate types of survey questions with respect to ‘Yes / No’ versus Likert scale and open-ended questions.
B. Write an analysis report that describes the target population. This 3 to 5 page report should include:
1. Brief summary of the topic message to be delivered. This should not be your entire Message Analysis but enough to define the topic details and relevant information that would describe the potential target demographic and target delivery medium.
2. Data from the survey. This should include statistics (i.e. 85% of females surveyed reported…) for all questions that were asked and why these results will support (or not support) continued development for the proposed multimedia product.
3. Other information relevant information from sources that describe and define the target population characteristics
4. A description of all major relevant population group characteristics that this product could be targeted to.
This audience analysis information may also be used later to define various design options including: the treatment, selection of media components, and navigation design.
