Interview paperMany of the writers we are reading describe experiences that have been recounted to them by others, but at which they were not themselves present. Conduct an interview
with someone you know fairly well about an illness ze has had. Please describe your interviewee’s experience, doing your best to represent the truth of zir experience
as you understand it.
The interviewee must have had the illness zirself, and should be an adult at this time. Please interview the person alone, even if others were involved. If your
interviewee gives permission, you may record the interview-but your task is to describe the experience in your words; direct quotation should be limited. It is up to
you whether to include yourself in the paper, as well as whether to include yourself in the paper, as well as whether to write in the first or the third person.
Requirement:1. When you write about this essay, please think about the following question to make sure youwritethe essay well.1) What is your sense of the interviewee? What else would you like to know about the person?2) What is your sense of the interviewer (i.e., the writer of the paper)? Think about the point of view, persona, or tone.3) What is your sense of disease, illness, condition, or injury being discussed? You can also write about the illness or the person’s response.4) What does the interviewee seem to understand the truth of the experience to be?5) What does the writer/interviewee seem to understand the truth of the experience to be?6) If the answers to question 4 and 5 are different, is this a problem? Does it require further explication in this paper? Think about it7) Do you have any concerns about the ethics of the writer’s representation of the interviewee’s experience?
