1. how your approach to instruction would fulfil the requirements of a balanced approach to literacyinstruction (20 marks);
2. how and why you would incorporate elements of the “Big Six”(Konza, 2014) (20 marks), and
3. how the requirements of the Western Australian Curriculum and the Australian Curriculum would be met
(20 marks).
Your assignment should be presented in the form of an academic essay of approximately 3000 words. You should draw on current theory and examples of best practice, making reference to at least six references from scholarly sources, including at least four current journal articles.
You should explain a balanced approach both in terms of the skills and content to be taught and the pedagogical approaches used. You may illustrate your description with examples of classroom practice which may be drawn from your reading.
