1. Write the “Implement the Plan” and “Neutralize Opposition” sections of your paper. Together they should be a minimum of three pages and address the following course learning outcomes:
a. Demonstrate competence and practical application of relevant theories within the social work profession.
i. Identify the social work theories applied in developing interventions and addressing the opposition.
b. Apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment, person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks in interventions with clients and constituencies.
i. Explain what multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks (person-in-environment, strengths perspective, social systems, ecological, social structural, and human behavior, etc.) you will apply in your intervention with clients and constituencies. Connect your knowledge of human behavior and social environment to your intervention and to potential opposition.
ii. Conduct research using the Off Campus Library Services (OCLS) and include sources to support your ideas.
c. Critically choose and implement interventions to achieve practice goals and enhance capacities of clients and constituencies.
i. Develop a plan that will demonstrate how the change will be implemented. What will the planned change look like? What kind of process is likely to be important in moving through the implementation phase? In other words, the implementation plan identifies how the goals, objectives, and action steps you have set up will actually get done.
d. Use inter-professional collaboration as appropriate to achieve beneficial practice outcomes.
i. Social workers can serve as change agents by inviting colleagues to join in a change initiative and improve service delivery. Practitioners must understand what leadership entails in order to become leaders themselves and promote the type of collaboration that can aid successful interventions.
ii. How will you match the needs of carrying out the plan with the strengths of the persons participating in the implementation?
iii. How will you bring the action team together and assign tasks, write a grant application to cover the costs of the implementation, etc.? What leadership style will you demonstrate?
e. Negotiate, mediate, and advocate with and on behalf of clients and constituencies.
i. Think about how you will neutralize opposition: Who might oppose this change? How will you overcome their opposition to the project or change? How can you assist clients in addressing the opposition? How can you neutralize opposition that is aimed at you as the “change agent” in this process? How will you use negotiation, mediation, and advocacy to overcome or address the opposition to the project?
