make an essay plan based on my selected quote (from death penalty point of view)

Quote: “When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, you will find far more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have been committed in the name of rebellion” (CP Snow. “Either-Or” , as quoted in Zimbardo, 2007)

Instructions:
For the research essay you need to use this chosen topic as a lens through which to critically explore quote above. You should bring some of the concepts covered in this course to bear on your topic, for example: the power of disposition vs situation vs systems, dehumanisation, moral disengagement, emotions of fear, anger, hatred, shame & guilt, obedience to authority, stereo-typing & prejudice, hostile imaginations.

It should consist of the following: an essay topic and brief rationale. This would eventually go into the introduction of your essay (approx. 1 page), a plan of the main arguments you will make (approx. 1 page), a brief outline of the key literature in this area (1 page), and a reference list. There should also be one paragraph on any potential challenges that may affect the final essay (for example conceptual material, concerns about topic etc). The brief outline of key literature should be a list of 8-10 articles with 1-2 sentences on their relevance (a short annotated bibliography).
