Consider the model of perfect competition.  Does it describe your employer or the makers of most of the products you buy?  What do you believe is the role of the model of perfect competition in economic theory and American politics?

Consider the claim that the primary de-stabilizing factor in the U.S. economy is the  impact of computerization and globalization eliminating middle class jobs.  What, if anything,  should be done to speed the transition to our “new” economy and what, if anything, should be done to assist the workforce during the transition?
