Sociology
Media resources are an excellent source for content analysis. Select a story from a TV news show, newspaper, magazine, or website on an important social problem. Distinguish between “facts” as set forth by the author and “opinions” of the author. Analyze why the journalist believes the topic is newsworthy. Finally, compare the article with how you think sociologists using each of the three major theoretical perspectives might examine the issue.
