Description:
In the Michael Sanders book, “Justice.’ In each chapter, he presents a series of issues as a way of presenting the major theories that have been proposed when considering how to ‘do the tight thing” under different circumstances. For example, Chapter 2 presents Jeremy Bentham as a major proponent of Utilitarianism. Chapter 3 presents Robert Nozick, a representative of Libertarianism. Chapter 5 presents Emanuel Kant and the Deontological approach. And Chapter 6 presents John Rawls as the most recent proponent of “Social Contract” theory. In this way, we are perpetually refining our definition of Justice by looking at it from a variety of perspectives and changing conditions.
Adopt one of these perspectives, define the theory, and provide three reasons why you would adopt that school of thought. Give at least one example to support your reasons. Provide at least one reason why you would NOT adopt each of the other main theories discussed in Chapters 1 through 6 of this book.
