Warfare in the Napoleonic era is similar to warfare practiced today

Question:  Support the argument that warfare in the Napoleonic era is fundamentally similar to warfare practiced today.

I.    Introduction
Napoleon was truly justified his reputation as a great captain because of his clear understanding and knowledge of strategic and tactical principles of warfare to meet overall political and military objectives which is highly regarded today on the modern military warfare.

Thesis:  Warfare in the Napoleonic era has provided evidence on development of modern warfare practiced today.  The five major influences on modern warfare are universal conscription, unity of command, force structure, decisive battle, and logistics.

II.    Napoleon implemented universal conscription in order to produce a great increase in the number of soldiers.
A.    He developed a new perception of the army.
B.    He made the army a national and public affair

III.    Napoleon understood the importance of unity of command
A.    The unity of political and military authority eliminated the friction at the top
B.    Napoleon believed in one-man command.

IV.    Napoleon developed the concept of organizing armies into division and corps
A.    He was the first to consistently gain success in military grounds operations through decentralized maneuver and centralized control.

V.    Napoleon was able to combine speed, firepower, and protection in a lethal combination

The modern warfare practiced today has changed significantly since the Napoleonic era.  Technological advancements in the military have had a powerful transformative effect on modern warfare.  However, warfare in the Napoleonic ear is still visible and practiced.  Many military leaders understand the importance of unity of command, force structure, decisive battle, and logistics before and during war.  It is clear that these five major contributions of Napoleon Bonaparte are fundamentally similar to warfare practiced.
